Subject : Honda crv
Hi, this is my first time on this site. I have had my crv 2.2 diesel for 3yrs now & done 23k of its 26.5k mileage, I am so pleased with it I wouldn't know how to start, yeh I would, the economy is fab, seat are comfy, good on m/ways.not too bad on bendy bits. Would apprieciate info on best tyres to get when these wear out.
This week though I have started to notice a slight creeking noise occasionally from drivers door. Has anyone else out there noticed this on their crv?
Also where can you get a key fob from without paying £200+

Subject : Crackling/Goaning noise
Hi I am just a new owner of this HONDA HRV 2001, when bought at the time seller informed me of a wishbone change as teh reason for MOT failure. driven back home noticed a bad Crackling groaning noce somewhere from the back wheels or suspension. can someone help me what that could be or how it could be sorted out ( How much roughly it would cost) know it is a bit stupid but i was jus tworried. .

If it's just when turning in tight circles it could be centre diff is seized. Sounds a bit like tyres scraping on arches and car may "hop" a bit. Simple job but get a Honda garage to do it, local dealer did mine for £70 or so.
My 1999 3 dr HRV is going in under scrappage this week (I know it's bonkers to scrap it but when offered £2000 what would you do!) if anyone needs bits. Have a Brink towbar for sale.

Hi, we have 3 dogs. Open windows. Do not use your key or remote. When exiting the car, hold your driver's door handle open and press down your door button. Release door handle and close. The inside motion sensor is de-activated, but the car is still alarmed if someone tries to get into your windows or doors. When you approach the car, use the remote as normal to open doors. Happy dogs, stress free shopping!!

I imagine this is long solved, but for new browsers here is the answer:
There are two ways to open the back door(s), both require the glass section to be lifted first.
    1) manual release button is on driver's door just below the arm rest / handle.
    2) on my keys, the small black button releases the glass when held briefly.
The bottom door will not open unless the glass panel is lifted.
    Hope this helps,

Subject : HR-V beeping
I hope somone can help, i had a look through the manual but drew a blank. I have a 2001 Honda Hr-v.

Basically was at some traffic lights today (once was turning left with indicator going, and once was just going straight on but with my low-beam lights on.. by mistake) anyway, after a few mins of waiting this annoying beeping starts.. beep, beep, beep etc. I have no idea what it is, is it telling me that my i have something on that it think si shouldnt because the car has been stationery for a few minutes? The beeping seemed to stop when i turned off the light but i cant get it to to it again to test it. Any help would be great!

Cheers

I don't know if it's a lock problem....if the keys have "gone bad". Can anyone help??

The Mrs went out to go to work this morning and her key fob wouldn't work? Tried her spare set and no joy (both sets have the little red light flash but doors won't unlock). I put the car on a trickle charger for a couple of days and bit by bit it came back to life. First the doors would open with the fob (after about 24hrs charge) and then the strater motor would cough, then it would start up! Took it for a reasonablly long run and it's been fine since :-) Good luck

Subject : HRV handling so slippery!
About 4 weeks ago it was a dark rainy night when I took a roundabout at about 20 mph but this roundabout in question was very sharp to get round. the car started to swing all over the place and I was lucky nobody else was near me at the time as it would have been a crash for sure. Since then, I have been driving as though I was walking on ice! My questions:
could it be the tyres are wrong for the wet?
would worn brakes have anything to do with the poor handling?
is it possible to have the springs lowered to give the car more ground hugging capabilities?
would putting on wider tyres help with the above too?

Thanks for any input.

I recently had a 3 point seat belt fitted in the back of my HRV by a company that operates within the M25. The job cost me £150 and was well worth the money. The belt is height adjustable and very securely welded to the car base under the seat. The easier option was a lap belt but I personally wouldn't trust my kid's security in a simple lap belt.
